Drafting Service#

  1. Project Setup and Repository Organization - The drafting service begins with a structured setup of project files, ensuring that all relevant directories, such as /src, /dist, and /archive, are created and maintained for easy access and organization throughout the project lifecycle. The project files are labeled with the specific Quote#_Location_Drafting for identification and clarity.

  2. Creation and Management of Drafting Files - The service includes the creation of detailed drafting files, which encompass all necessary assemblies, subassemblies, and parts. These files are stored and managed within the /src directory during the drafting phase. Each drafting project follows a systematic process, ensuring that all assemblies, parts, and drawings are properly created, labeled, and stored in corresponding directories like /2_Assemblies, /3_Subassemblies, /4_Parts, and /5_Drawings.

  3. Excel Spreadsheet and Documentation - As part of the drafting service, an Excel spreadsheet (1_Summary.xlsx) is used to document and track the project’s progress. This spreadsheet includes key details such as the scope of work, customer information, start and end dates, and the status of each assembly and part. The spreadsheet is kept up-to-date throughout the project to maintain an accurate overview of project status.

  4. Quality Control and Deliverables - The drafting service includes a thorough quality control process. Before finalizing deliverables, each part, subassembly, and assembly is reviewed for accuracy and consistency with project standards. The drawings are reviewed and signed, ensuring that they meet all customer and regulatory requirements.

  5. Pack and Go for Deliverable Redundancy - Once the drafting is completed, all assemblies and drawings are saved in a Pack and Go zipped folder for redundancy. This ensures that all relevant files are archived and available for future reference. The zipped folder is stored in the /2_Assemblies directory for easy retrieval.

  6. Final Deliverables and Customer Handoff - After the drafting service is complete, the /dist/Quote#_Location_Drafting directory is zipped and prepared for final delivery. This zipped folder is saved on the customer’s external hard drive or uploaded to any shared folder specified by the customer. The final package includes all project files in the agreed format, such as .pdf versions of the Excel sheet and drawings, ready for customer use.

  7. Post-Service Documentation and Archiving - After the project is delivered, the final project files are archived in the /archive directory. This ensures that important documentation is stored for long-term reference, including any miscellaneous information or important files that may be relevant to future projects.
